Candidates 16 years and older build on the rescue techniques and first aid learned at Junior level including Level 2 First Aid.

Senior lifeguards also become eligible to do paid lifeguard duty over week-ends and school holidays.
There are a couple of leadership positions open to Senior Lifeguards who show dedication and strong rescue knowledge and ability, these roles include, but are not limited to Squad Leader, vice-captain and positions on the club committee.
Lifeguard training for all active and competitive lifeguards take place on Fridays and Sundays in season.
The Senior Lifeguard Award (LA) is the highest award lifeguards can reach within our club.
In order to enrol in the Lifeguard Award course, prospective candidates need to be proficient swimmer and will have to undergo an entry test comprising of a pool swim. Lifeguard Award (16 on the day of the assessment)
Complete a 400m swim in a 25m pool in less than 8 minutes.
Complete a 200m Run – 300m Swim – 200m Run in under 10 minutes.
